Ninja of the Night

Just annoyances.. nothing major.

jan is here, which sucks. We haven't exchanged a single word. No murdering glances either. Just like I had guessed.

For some reason we no longer have hot water. If this persists I am going to take tomorrow off work on account of not having had a shower since Tuesday morning.

I had this freaky dream tonight.. Everyone kept talking about the fact that Hayate had returned, but no one would let me see him. I don't even remember if there were any other Naruto characters in the dream.. but there were some Konoha ninja anyway. Generics.

This was after I woke up sometime past four and read that Naruto had been licensed, but couldn't find a reliable news link. Connection? You bet..

Did find links to the press release once I properly got up, and, well.. I can't really say that it changes much. Some subbers will drop the series, some will go underground, vulture groups will try to get a name for themselves picking up a big name where others left it off. It's nothing new.
And I think we should stop acting like something has been stolen from us. We didn't have a right to watch the show translated in the first place. I don't know all that much about copyright law, especially when it's international.. but the raws that are recordings of the show as aired on TV? They're not 100% legal, are they?

Maa.. it doesn't change anything for me, at least. It's only a North America + Latin America licensing. It's still unlicensed in Europe. Even if everyone stopped subbing it (which ain't going to happen), I'd still happily watch the raws.

Time to shuffle off to work.
Sakura - Strength and Beauty

A small round of applause for me?

Today, I got lost on my way to work. Yes. I just thought "I've never gone down that road before.. I wonder where it leads. It's sort of parallel to the road I usually walk, maybe I can save some time..." and.. yeah. Let's not talk about the rest.

I saw a part of town I never even knew existed. And I still believe that there are wormholes in Oslo. Before I knew it, I was at Majorstuen. O_o

And it's freaking cold. weather.com says -8ºC (18ºF) with no windchill, but I'd have guessed double digits of freezing.

Anyway, thanks to my dislike of routine, I walked for two hours to get to work today, as opposed to my normal hour and fifteen minutes.

And I have actual work to do today. Blah. I had hoped I could get some time to relax with my book.. I might finish early, but by then the cafeteria will be closed and I can't get tea.
Kuchiki Rukia - Not an Artist

And just as I guessed..

Right when I was done with the work and my second cup of tea, the cafeteria was closed.

Since this is my last payday of the month, and I aimed for paying back the rest of my debt before the end of February, I did. This leaves me with less than I'd like for the next fortnight.

So it comes down to buying just one, possibly two, of these:

Water boiler to have in my office = Unlimited tea at work.
A pair of pants. Need them.
Gigabit switch + gigabit NICs. One could argue that I don't need these, but I want, and currently have no way of putting more than one computer online at a time.

What should I buy?

Pants! (estimated cost of >300 kroner)
Gigabit switch + NICs (750 kroner + shipping)
Water boiler (estimated cost 200 to 400 kroner)
Rock Lee - 愛!

Retail therapy! ^_^

After my extra-long walk to work this morning, you'd think I just wanted to go home and sleep.. but no. First, I stopped by Pandabutikken to tell Tina that Odessa had come back. Then I went out looking for stuff I needed.. particularly pants and/or water boiler.

I walked all the way downtown, and came across an immigrant store I have been shopping at occasionally for years.. got two plantains and a chunk of pumpkin. ^_^

Then I had a kebab. Mmmm, junk food.

Then the hunt for pants began - didn't find anything either in my preferred price range or that I really liked in the first store I tried, but got one matching both criteria in the second. Pictures will be posted tomorrow, most likely.

Then walking through a mall, I saw really cheap, good-looking pants.. but they seemed to only have them in sizes anorexic to slim. Bah to them. Browsing a few more stores in the same mall, I found proclamations of SALE! and pants that cost about twice of what the pair I got did. Even some for over 1000,- ::rolls eyes:: Disgusted, I gave up on looking for a second pair of pants. The ones I got were the last they had of my size.. but they'd have to be a little bit cheaper for me to justify buying two.

I didn't find a water boiler. It was getting late, and the one place within range that I was sure had to have one was already closed.

Walking through Byporten, I saw something I had never seen in Norway before. EBGames! I got Munchkin (the card game) and Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition for PC, for just 129,-.. that'll be Sigmund's belated birthday present. Already called him to tell him, and he was nearly ecstatic. XD

Not because I was tired, but more because it was dark and running late, I took the subway home. Having finished my book at work today, I played FFTA. ^_^

When I came home, Odessa was resting on my bed, and the ventilation hatch wasn't opened.. either she learned to push it shut after coming back in, or she hasn't been outside since this morning.

I think I have a blister on my feet from excessive walking. I guess it can't be a perfect day.
Edit: forgot to mention, we have hot water again too.
