Some of the SMAC quotes still send chills down my spine..

"My gift to industry is the genetically engineered worker, or Genejack, specially designed for labor. The Genejack's muscles and nerves are ideal for his task, and the cerebral cortex has been atrophied so that he can desire nothing except to perform his duties. Tyranny, you say? How can you tyrannize someone who can not feel pain?"
- Chairman Shen-ji Yang, Essays on Mind and Matter.

Today, I've been more productive, putting my restlessness to good use. I've done two loads of laundry, some minor housework, taken out the trash, changed the bed and left the kitchen in no worse condition than it was this morning. Slightly embarrassed about it, but I broke a sweat several times. I must be in horrible shape.

Watched several episodes of Monster, which is still an awesome show. Played SMAC some more, on Transcend level. It's really challenging so far, and I'm rated at less than half the power level as the two dominant factions (Hive and Gaians), but I think I'm finally starting to get an advantage, now that I can build units with clean reactors. Through clever use of probe teams, I've pitted the more powerful factions against one another, and have so far stayed out of conflict, until now, when the Hive has taken over some Spartan bases very close to me. Now their needlejets mercilessly attack my formers, supply crawlers and even the bases themselves. But, I've stolen several useful technologies, and cashed in some alien artifacts, and will soon have fusion laser copters myself. I am confident I'll be able to turn the tide soon.

I am also glad there's one more day of the weekend left. I'm not ready to go back to work just yet.
Going to bed before midnight tonight. Will make an effort to get up before noon tomorrow so I can get more stuff done.
